Darrell Schiffer

A licensed general contractor, skilled craftsman and perfectionist with over 20 years experience in construction and remodeling. He began working in his father’s construction business in New York as a teenager and helped him for many years. He also managed the grounds of a major NY university for over 8 years, performing and supervising all kinds of maintenance, repair and remodeling projects on school grounds. He enjoys being a hands-on contractor, working alongside his crew as both supervisor and senior craftsman.

Jovita Schiffer

Background in business administration and human resources. Her primary role at Front Range Handyman & Remodeling Inc. is to provide superior customer service while finding ways to save clients money.

Our Story

Darrell and Jovita moved from Allenspark, CO to Superior nearly 6 years ago. While living in the mountains, Darrell started doing side-work as a handyman so that Jovita could quit her job to care for their baby, Jakob. After just a few months he was getting most of his business from word of mouth. People loved the work that Darrell did for them. By the time the Schiffers decided to move down from the mountains, Darrell had to turn business away because he was in such high demand.

Darrell continued to do side jobs through referrals until June of 2004, when he quit his day job and Jovita joined him in starting Front Range Handyman & Remodeling Inc.  They have been getting steady work since then with lots of repeat business and referrals.

Today, their business has grown to include two additional full-time craftsmen that work year round with Darrell.  Their family has also grown with the birth of a second son, Elijah, last year. The Schiffers pride themselves in providing quality work with integrity and reliability. They have not raised their rates in over 5 years and hope to be able to avoid the rate increases their competitors have been implementing.  They are committed to keeping remodeling affordable for homeowners, especially during a time of economic challenges.
